Aging in Place
PRESS RELEASE: Maria A. Wilson Earns Certified Aging in Place Specialist Educational Designation

Pittsburgh, PA - Maria A. Wilson, of Wilson Architecture + Design, LLC, is now one of the select group of professionals nationwide to earn the Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS) designation, identifying her as an architect with the skills and knowledge necessary to remodel or modify a home to meet the unique needs of the older population, disabled owners or their visitors.

The National Association of Home Builders, in partnership with the AARP and Home Innovation Research Labs, created the CAPS program, which includes training and education on the technical, business management and customer service skills essential to compete in the fastest growing segment of the residential remodeling industry home modifications for aging in place.

CAPS graduates include remodelers, builders, designers, architects, occupational therapists and others who help homeowners remain in their homes safely, independently and comfortably as they age.

For additional information about the services provided by Wilson Architecture + Design, LLC contact Maria today at 412-418-9779!

Maria is a member of the National Aging in Place Council (NAIPC).

Maria believes that we should all have the right to remain in our home as long as possible. Having the foresight to recognize that our needs may change and a few preparations can prolong the time we are able to remain in our homes, in our communities and with our family and friends.

Simple preparations such as installing blocking for grab bars in a new home, a zero step entry or wider doors are inexpensive to provide upfront and can be much appreciated later, whether you are disabled or simply trying to move that new washing machine through the front door!

At Wilson Architecture + Design, your project is managed from beginning to end by Maria Wilson.  Maria is passionate about good design and livable environments.
