Wilson Architecture + Design, LLC was founded by Maria Wilson to help clients define their current needs and foresee their future needs. Whether it be the need for an additional bedroom, when baby number two arrives, or preparing your current home for your aging parents arrival, our practice focuses on people and their individual and ever changing needs!
"Thank you for all of your time, availability, energy and expertise. While we are happy to have it completed, we will miss working with you. It was a true pleasure. You have changed our lives, and that of the house, forever." - Scott & Lisa
We combine experience, energy, a love for design and a passion for people. We work with our clients to innovate solutions that achieve their goals while respecting their schedule and budget. We will collaborate with you to find that delicate balance.
We believe architecture influences the way that we live. Good design should simplify the way we live and accommodate the demands of life. Architecture should be functional and aesthetically pleasing.
We believe the key to any successful project is communication. It begins with clearly defining what you can expect from us. We see our role as facilitator. From our initial conversation to a completed project we will assist you with defining your project goals, preliminary design, budgeting, construction documentation, construction administration and more.
Your project is our top priority. All projects at Wilson Architecture + Design, LLC are designed and managed by Maria Wilson. She is your single point of contact and is available to you throughout your project.
Collaboratively, we will find the right balance between scope, budget and schedule and guide you to the finished product.
Why Wilson Architecture + Design
Maria began her career in New England where she worked with Burnell Johnson Architects, Manchester, New Hampshire to design and construct multi-family housing, elderly care facilities, and light commercial projects. Her work included new construction, as well as, conversions of mills, churches and schools into residential developments. Here, Maria developed extensive knowledge and interest in accessibility related issues.
After relocating to Pittsburgh, Maria worked for Landmarks Design Associates on Pittsburgh's south side. Her work there focused on historic preservation and restoration.
Maria loves what she does. She loves working with people. She loves helping them find design solutions that better accommodate their ever lifestyle and will adapt as their needs change.
